Mothers/Grandmothers Gift Guide 2013

Hey lovelies

Now there's only 25 days till Christmas & you may be wondering what to get for the ladies in your life. But once again have no fear as Debbie is here to save the day & present you with some gift ideas.

Shall we begin?

Utensils
Now that we are getting closer to winter, my parents and I are starting to eat more spaghetti to provide us with fuel and keep us full for longer. But we are terrible at judging how much pasta we need so I think This spaghetti portion measuring stick would make a great gift for the cook in your life.

They are inexpensive and I found mine on eBay for less than £15.00

Perfume
My mum is a huge fan of perfumes and normally gets a couple for Christmas and this year she will be receiving This Elizabeth Arden Untold scent as it's smells so good but not over powering.

A little on the expensive side at £34.50 but it comes in a nice little bottle that you can show off. Also for the same price you can get  This gift set that comes with a body lotion as well. Check out the perfume shop for offers.

Books
Now it wouldn't be my gift guide if I didn't sneak in a book recommendation hehe.

But because I love far too many books to recommend just one I decided to recommend an Ebook reader. If the woman in your life loves books and tends to have about 3 in her bag, then I highly recommend These Kobo eReaders (If only to ease your loved ones back). I own an Ebook reader myself and it's the best thing since sliced bread no joke! It is extremely convenient to have all your books on one device and it doesn't take up that much space if you plan on popping it into your bag, prices start at £29.99 and go up to £139.99.

Shoes
Seeing as we are not that far away from Winter and that means all that white stuff starts to fall from the sky and trying to walk in said white stuff can be extremely hard and slipping & sliding is highly unattractive with a dash of embarrassment thrown in for good measure. Everyone needs a good pair of sturdy snow boots, personally I love These ones. I recently picked up my second pair of these boots they lasted me two years which is amazing considering the amount of times I wear them. They are super comfortable and keep my toes toasty warm. They are super cheap at £19.99

Clothes
Just like men get cold in the winter, us ladies also get cold but somehow end up feeling the cold more. So having a super fuffly dressing gown is a must!

I did a bit of looking and stumbled upon These really nice ones that are super cheap and they are the long ones so you can proper get all cozy in them. Check out these dressing gowns for only £8.89.

Other
For most of us girls keeping everything we own in our bags is essential but what if we could stand to get rid of a few things and that's where This Travel Atomiser is a really cool travel perfume container that allows you to pump the amount of perfume you wish to take with you without have to lug around the biggest perfume bottle you own. It would make an excellent gift for all of you that like to smell nice. What's more it is only £7.99 talk about bargain + plus it comes in tons of designs to tickle everyone's fancy!!
----------------------------------------------
That's if for this gift guide, what do you think of these gifts, will you be buying any of them?

Be sure the check back next week for the stocking filler gift guide :)

Till next time

XOXO
Debbie

Week Two: I'm a Beauty Blogger, Get Me Out Of Here! Tag.

Hey lovelies

For the second week in a row I interrupt your normal viewing to bring you the next post in the I'm a beauty blogger, get me out of here tag. Which is created by the lovely Rochelle and Natasha. You can check out their awesome blog Next-Route-Style here :)

Shall we begin?

Q1) Firstly congratulations! You won last weeks bush tucker trial and your reward is a makeover from a professional make-up artist. What look would you choose and why?
A1) I'm a big fan of the natural look so that would be my choice.

Q2) It's time to wash - ok so it's not in a luxury shower or a bath but you do get a choice of one soap/shower gel to use. What would you pick and why?
A2) Oooo I would have to pick my Vanillia and honey body wash. It smells so yummy. Although that could back fire and all the bugs would start chewing on me.

Q3) Today is the arrival of a new camp mate, yay! You get to decide, it can be anyone this time. Who will you choose and why?
A3) I'd pick my niece if I could as she brightens up anyone's day but as she's far too young I would pick my dad so he can save me from all the bugs.

Q4) It can get a little boring in the jungle and you're feeling sluggish. What one fitness exercise would you do?
A4) exercise? I am unfamiliar with this word.

Q5) How would you create your own jungle fashion style?
A5) I don't have a design bone in my body so perhaps just stick twigs onto my clothes and hope for the best lol

Q6) What is your favourite Australian product and why?
A6) I've never used any Australian products :(

Q7) Good news, the camp has won the treasure chest hunt! In need of something sweet, each camp mate wins their own cupcake. What would yours be?
A7) Chocolate, with a gooey chocolate filling and topped off with chocolate icing. That's not too much is it?

Q8) Challenge - bush tucker trial number 2, 'the jungle hair & beauty salon'. You're sitting under a vintage hair dryer and instead of hot air being blasted out you are greeted by 10,000 creepy crawlies. Which creepy crawlies would you detest the most and which ones wouldn't you mind?
A8) I would much prefer to pass on this challenge as I hate all bugs. But I suppose if I have to answer I would detest spiders and wouldn't mind lady bugs.... Do they count as bugs?

That's it for this weeks tag. Tune back in next week for the last and final week.

Till next time

Debbie

Dad & Granddads Gift Guide 2013

Hey lovelies

There is only 32 days till Christmas and many of you are probably panicking as to what to give the men in your life for Christmas, but have no fear for Debbie is here to save the day. I have complied a list of ideal gifts that I think will be perfect this Christmas.

Shall we begin?

Clothing
Now the older we get the more we start feeling the cold in our poor bones. Both Fleece's & jumpers are a great idea and I found two that fit the bill.

You can check out the fleece here and is priced at £7.49

You can check out this snazzy jumper here and is priced at £20.00 a little on the pricey side but worth it.

Footwear
I don't know about you, but I get really cold feet this time of year and I'm always happy to receive slippers, so I went ahead and found two different styles that should hopefully work.

I think these Slippers are best suited for the Granddads in your life as they are super sturdy and less chance of them tripping over in them. You can check it out here and are cheap as chips at £6.99

My dad is a big fan of these types of slippers and he shall be receiving a pair this Christmas. Check them out here these are also cheap at only £7.99

Books
I'm a big fan of books & this would be a great gift for any book lover in your life. I went for David Jason as I think if you were a fan of Only Fools & Horses then I'm sure this book will be a good read. Check it out here it's priced at £9.99

Grooming & Gift Sets
If that man in your life is big on looking good or keeping their beard neat then a shaver is essential. (I don't have a big knowledge or any knowledge for that matter when it comes to men's shaver) but this one seems pretty good. Check it out here. A bit on the pricey side at £79.99 but worth it.

There's a huge amount of gift sets out there and each one pretty much contains the same thing but this one contains some decent essentials and is the cheaper version. Get your eyeballs to have a look here

If you are looking to spend a bit more on a gift set then this one here could be for you. It contains extra essentials and comes in a handy tin which makes wrapping it super easy. It is priced at £35.00.

Alcohol
If you are under 18 then you can skip this one. Wouldn't want to be a bad influence.

I feel certain in saying a lot of the older generation are probably partial to a glass of whiskey on a cold night or any night for that matter. So why not get them a nice bottle of their favourite alcoholic drink. If the men in you life like whiskey then click here. Average price at £17.50

Other
If then men in life are partial to having their dinner in front of the TV then a lap tray is a perfect gift. They come in many different designs and I picked a football one which you can have a look at here they are super cheap at £6.99

DVDs
Every year around Christmas me and the parents whip out the home alone box set. I think they are the perfect movie if you are looking to laugh which this movie does so well then check them out here they are a bit on the expensive side at £29.99 but you do get four DVDs in the set.

That's it for this gift guide. I hope it was of some help if you liked this guide then check back next week for the mothers & grandmothers gift guide

Till next time

Eye Creams Review

Hey

Recently I had a very stressful and upsetting week so I've been reaching for my eye creams to reduce puffiness and dark circles and thought I would share with you what I've been using :)

The first Eye Cream I've been using is The Boots Eye cream which I actually picked up during the Summer and have been using it on and off every since.

It's a creamy formula and that really sinks into my dark circles and reduces their appearance, which is extremely handy as I do suffer from dark circles (I don't have a very good sleeping schedule) it claims to help reduce appearances of fine lines, puffiness & dark circles, so this product really does the job. It takes up to 4 weeks for the product to work and that's if you use it daily, all I do is pat it into the skin under my eyes and grab myself a snooze. The Eye cream cost £2.54 for 15ml which I picked up from Boots. It is also suitable for all skin types.

I have had some crying moments recently so my eyes have been very red and puffy (not a good look) which is why I picked this cooling cucumber eye cream for exactly these moments.

This product is in a gel formula as opposed to the cream formula. It claims to cool, refresh and lightly hydrate the eye area. As soon as I've applied to my under eye area you can feel the product cooling and working its magic. A little goes a long way with this product otherwise you end up with very sticky and wet mess under your eyes. This eye gel costs £1.50 for 15ml. I picked mine up from Boots. It is also suitable for all skin types.

I would highly recommend both these eye creams and would repurchase again.

What eye creams do you recommend and think that I should try?

Till next time

XOXO
Debbie

FTC: I purchased both products myself with my own money. My opinion is my own & 100% honest.

Matched #1 Book Review

Hey lovelies

I finally finished my Autumn Reading List and this is the last book to be reviewed

Let's jump in.

Matched (Matched #1)
Published: 2010
369 Pages

Description:
Cassia has always trusted the society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe so when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching Ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate....until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The society tells her its a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. Cassia begins to doubt the society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow..

Review
While I enjoyed this book, I didn't love it. It's an interesting storyline and is your average YA book. I feel there's so many of these type of books out there that it's hard to write something new. Most of the YA books that I have read are pretty much the same and this is no exception.

You have the different groups that everyone fits into, their government controls everything they do & there is always one that needs to rebel and cause trouble. The writing is missing something, I'm not sure what though, passion perhaps? The characters didn't feel like they had a proper personality. What ever it was I just can't put my finger on it.

While I wasn't excited to keep turning the pages to find out what happen, I did want to finish it nonetheless. I will continue to read the series as I am curious to find out what happens.

My Rating: 3/5
Would I recommend: that's a tough question to answer as I did like it but it wasn't anything special. I'll go with yes. I liked it & you might as well.

If you're interested in this book, then you can buy one here :)

Have you read this series? If so what did you think of it?

Till next time

XOXO
Debbie
