Autumn Reading List 2013 #1

Hey friend

Summer is over :'( which means Autumn has arrived. With a new season comes a new reading list and as I finished my summer one I thought I would again share what I'm going to be reading.

First up is...

The Mortal Instruments Series: City of Ashes #2
By Cassandra Clare

Description: Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like Werewolves, Vampires and Faries? If Clary left the world of the Shadow-hunting behind, it would mean more time with her best friend Simon.

But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go - especially her newfound brother Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down Rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil and also her father.

I love James Patterson so I picked his recent novel to read

Second Honeymoon #2
By James Patterson

Description: A walk down the aisle. A resort hotel, a drink on the beach.. For these unlucky couples, the honeymoon's over. A newlywed couple steps into the Sauna in their deluxe honeymoon suite - and steps out again. When another couple are killed when boarding their honeymoon flight to Rome, it becomes clear that someone is targeting honeymooners.

FBI Agent John O'Hara is deep into solving the case, while Special Agent Sarah Brubaker is hunting another ingenious serial killer, whose victims all have one thing in common..

The next one is the third installment in the Mortal Instrument Series

The Mortal Instrument Series: The City of Glass #3
By Cassandra Clare

Description: To save her mother's life. Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

I heard so many bad things about the Casual Vacancy and haven't yet read it so thought I would give this one a try

The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike #1)
By Robert Galbraith (J.K Rowling)

Description: After losing his leg on a land mine in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike is barely scraping by as a private investigator. Strike is down to one Client, and creditors are calling.

Then John Bristow walks through his door with an amazing story, his sister the legendary supermodel Lula Landry, known to her friends as the Cuckoo, famously fell to her death a few months earlier. The police ruled it as a suicide, but John refuses to believe that.

You may think you know detectives, but you've never met one quite like strike. You may think you know about the wealthy and famous, but you're never seen them under an investigation like this.

Extremely late with reading this series but better late than never.

Matched (Matched Series #1)
By Ally Condie

Description: Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch and what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching Ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate.... Until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The society tells her its a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. Cassia begins to doubt the society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

As Autumn lasts until December there will be a a number of Autumn Reading Lists so be on the look out for them. I will of course do reviews for all these books.

Till then happy reading :)

XOXO
Debbie
