Happy Potter Tag!

Hey

When I came across this tag on YouTube I knew I had to do it because I am a huge fan of Harry Potter. Let's get started

1) Favourite Harry Potter book?
For me it's the 7th book, The Deathly Hallows. I like how they are out on their own and fighting to survive all while trying to defeat Voldemort. Yeah I'm not afraid to say his name out loud!.

2) Favourite Harry Potter movie?
Ooo this is a tough one, I'm not sure. It's probably the first one because it's where all the magic comes to life and plus I can quote most of the movie.

3) Least favourite HP movie?
The 4th book which is The Goblet of Fire. It's not like it's a crap movie but I'm just not a fan of it. Wasn't a fan of the book either.

4) Parts of the book/movie that made you cry?
Oh my days, where to begin. The only two times I have cried during the book is when Hedwig and Dobby dies. For the movies I cried at the end of the first movie when Hagrid give Harry the photo album, in the second movie when Hermoine runs up to Harry & Ron in the great hall and ofc when Dobby dies.

5) If you could hook up with any character who would it be?
Probably Harry after all he is the boy that lived. Everyone wants to tap that lol.

6) Favourite character?
Dobby FTW! I have loved him since the very beginning well since the 2nd movie!

7) What would your protronus be? I love cats so it it would no doubt be a cat.

8) If you could have the Invisibility Cloak, Resurrection Stone or the Elder Wand which one would you pick?
Invisibility Cloak and I would use it for pure evil mwahahaha!

9) What house would you be in? I think I would like to be in Grffyindor but I don't mind which one as long as it is not Slythrien.

10) If you could meet any member of the cast who would it be? Does Buckbeak count?

11) Have you played any of the HP video games? I have and on many different consoles but my favourite is the Lego ones for the PS3

12) If you were on a Quidditch team, what position would you play? I'm shockingly terrible at sports so I don't think I would be very good. I have terrible eye sight so I couldn't be a Seeker, possibly a Beater?

13) Were your happy with the ending? Yes & No I loved that Harry defeated Voldermort but extremely upset that Hermione & Ron ended up together from the very beginning I have always felt that Harry and Hermione should be together BUT I love that JK Rowling has finally said that she should have had Harry & Hermione end up together.

14) What does Harry Potter mean to you? My childhood. I can still remember the first time I read the first book, where I was & why I ended up reading it. I've grown up with them and I recommend it to anyone who has yet to read/watch them.

I hope you enjoyed this tag, I tag all of you that wants to do it. Be sure to leave a comment so I can read your answers.

The Longest Ride - Nicholas Sparks

The Longest Ride
Published: 2012

Description: Ira Levinson is in trouble, he finds himself stranded on an isolated embankment after a car crash. Suffering multiple injuries, he struggles to retain conscious until a blurry image materializes and comes into focus beside him: his beloved wife Ruth, who passed away nine years ago. She urges him to hang on till help arrives.

Sophia meets a young cowboy named Luke. Sophia is introduced to a world in which the stakes of survival and success, ruin and reward --even life and death. As she and Like fall in love, Sophia finds herself imagining a future far removed from her plans - a future that Luke has the power to rewrite....if the secrets he's keeping doesn't destroy it first.

Ira and Ruth. Sophia and Luke. Two couples who have little in common, and who are separated by years and experience. Yet their lives will converge with unexpected poignancy.

Review:  This is quite possibly my favourite book by NS. Even though it is not based on a true story the book has a way of leaving you wishing you could experience the love that both couples have. It's a love that everyone should have the chance to experience.

Ira & Ruth

Two people that stayed together after everything that life threw at them. Ira's life hangs in the balance after he is involved in a car crash. While in and out of sleep he is visited by his dead wife Ruth who helps him to stay alive by talking through the memories that they made together. I like that he flashbacks to his life with Ruth and everything leading up to how he ended up in the car crash including when he gets rescued.

Luke & Sophia

Two people that fall in love in the unlikeliest of places. Luke and Sophia meet after Luke saves her from her ex-boyfriend who is a douche. They embark on a relationship where neither of them know what life will throw at them. Or where the relationship will take them. A love that is fresh and nice to see it growing up to the point where there lives change forever.

They are two different couples that are both entwined with each other without even knowing it. Ira & Ruth are the original couple while Luke and Sophia are the younger version.

I love the concept of this story and all the characters. It's a love story of all love stories. I love how it ended, it was the perfect ending which I think will please everyone.

My Rating: 5/5
Would I recommend?: Yes of course.

The Last Echo - Kimberly Derting Review

The Last Echo (The Body Finder, #3)
Published: 2012
Pages: 358

Description:
Before, Violet's morbid ability to sense the dead led her to uncover dark murders and long-buried secrets in her small town. Now that she's working with a special investigative team, Violet hopes she can help even more people - whether by saving a life or catching a killer.

Although she's relieved to finally be honest about what she can do, her instant connection with her mysterious partner, Rafe, is both confusing and unsettling and their unique bond creates tension with her boyfriend, Jay. When she discovers the body of a college student murdered by "the collector", Violet refuses to give up on the case. With her own relationship on the line, Violet doesn't realise that the serial killer is looking to add to his collection and that she may have caught his eye.

Review
Storyline - The theme is the same, there is a murderer on the lose and Violet is asked to help catch the killer, only this time the killer is after her. It was a good story but with these books I felt it was just being recycled.

Characters - Most of the characters in this book have appeared in the previous books with the exception of a few new people like Rafe & Gemma to name a few. They are both like Violet with special abilities. Rafe is quite likeable but has feelings for Violet which could threat Jay and Violets relationship. Gemma on the other hand isn't so likeable she is stuck up and gets on everyone's nerves.

Ending: The ending was a good one and left me in suspense over how it would end, it's not looking good for one character and will change their life forever and not in a good way. I can't wait for the till book.

Overall: When I read the first book a long time ago, I was very quickly hooked and then time quickly past by & I totally forgot about this series until I stumbled upon it again on Goodreads and am gutted it's taken me so long to continue with this series.

My Rating: 5/5
Would I recommend?: Yes. YA's would very much enjoy them. Including people that enjoyed 'The Harper Connelly Series' by Charlaine Harris.

FTC: I purchased this book with my own money. My opinion is my own and 100% honest. Description is from Goodreads & Image is from Google.

Review: George Skin Perfection Mousse Foundation

Hey

I think it's time for another review :).

Today I'm going to be review the George Skin Perfection Mousse Foundation. I picked it up in No 2 Ivory Beige.

I stumbled across this when I was doing my weekly food shopping which I do online and was intrigued to see Asda do their own foundation so I popped one into my basket and waited patiently for it to be delivered.

Fast forward two days and I began to try it out, only I made the mistake of trying it out at night which is never a good idea but I was desperate to try it so I thought what the hell. The product claims to be smooth & silky coverage

So I applied it to my face and not being it the best light it looked amazing and covered everything up really well so I thought I was on to a winner but come morning when I tried it again it was applied orange which is really gutting and as I couldn't a swatch as I brought it online I probably should have gone for the lighter shade, but never mind.

I will say it goes on really smoothly and feels amazing on, I would say it gives you light coverage but you could probably build it up in order to make it medium coverage.

So because it is orange I'm gonna say I wouldn't recommend this product unless you have darker skin or wear fake fan on your face. I'm sad that I won't be able to use this as a foundation but can't brings myself to throw it out. If you have any suggestions on another way I could use this product then please let me know.

This product cost £6.00 and they also have 3 other shades.

Till next time

Seconds Away - Harlan Coben Review

Seconds Away
Published: 2012
Pages: 338

Description: When tragedy strikes close to home, Mickey and his loyal new friends - sharp witted Ema and the adorkably charming Spoon - find themselves at the center of a terrifying mystery involving the shooting of their classmate Rachel. Now, not only does Mickey need to keep himself and his friends safe from the Butcher of Lodz, but he needs to figure out who shot Rachel - no matter what it takes.

Mickey Bolitar is as quick-witted and clever as his uncle Myron, but with danger just seconds away, it is going to take all of his determination and help from his friends to protect the people he loves, even if he does not know who - or what - he is protecting them from.

Review: other than James Patterson, Harlan Coben is another one of my favourite authors, I could just read their books all day.

If you're a fan of the Myron Bolitar series then I think you will enjoy this series starring his Nephew Mickey. It is just as engaging, leaves you questioning everything you've read so far including what you've read in the first book. It also leaves you reading into the early hours of the morning.

The book near enough carries on from where the first book ended and continues where they have to save another one of their friends that ends up in a spot of trouble. I was unable to put the book down unless I absolutely had too. I attempted to guess at what was really going on but I didn't even come close to guessing right. I love these types of books where you can't figure out the big secret. It makes me want to read it all the more quicker.

The relationship between Mickey and Myron is strained but they slowly make progress towards the end of the book which I was pleased at. You find out a shocking secret about Ema. And Spoon is as funny as ever.

My Rating: 5/5
Would I recommend?: Yes, if you liked the first book then you should like this one.

Till next time

Review: Avon Advance Techniques Moroccan Oil

Hey

Quite a while back I decided my hair needed some sort of oil in its life, so while flipping through the latest Avon book I stumbled across the Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan Argan Oil. I have heard a few Youtubers mention Argan oil and figured I had nothing to lose by giving it ago.

I've been testing it out for roughly 4 months and I can see the change it has made to my hair. It claims give instant shine and a smooth finish. I can totally agree, I love the way my hair feels now, it looks and feels healthy. It is weightless and leaves no residue. Which again is true, it doesn't leave your hair feeling heavy or greasy after using this product. It also has Vitamin E in it.

You can use this on wet or dry hair. Personally I use it on wet hair, I pump some of the product onto my hands, rub them together and focus most of the product on the ends of my hair, anything left over I just finger comb through the rest of my hair. You get 30ml for £5.50 but the product is currently on offer for £3.30. Something you can't afford to miss when the product truly works.

Till next time

Now & Forever - Bernie Nolan Review

Now & Forever
Published: 2013

Description: Bernie Nolan's heartbreaking story of her battle against incurable cancer.

Two years ago Bernie was given the all-clear after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Over the moon, Bernie set about rebuilding her life and making plans for the future.

Then in the summer of 2012, she was in her bedroom getting dressed when she found a lump just above her breast. Terrified, she immediately made the hospital appointment which was to deliver the devastating news that the cancer had returned. It had spread to her brain, lungs, liver and bones and the doctors said it was incurable.

Review: I wasn't too sure if i wanted to read this book because I thought it might leave me upset. But Bernie has a way of not leaving you feeling sorry for her, she doesn't feel sorry for herself so why should you. It's a very moving account of her life from childhood, adulthood, having children and ultimately getting cancer.

Bernie doesn't sugar coat anything in this book, she is brutally honest from the start. It is a very eye opening book and really makes you grateful for what you have. I've always been aware of the Nolan Sisters and have watched Bernie in some of the programmes she's appeared in like Brookside & The Bill. So it was nice to read about her experiences in the shows. And she really does give you an inside look on just how devastating having cancer is. Just have some tissues near by because it will leave you weeping.

My Rating: 5/5
Would I Recommend:? Yes.

March Favourites

Hey guys

Can you believe it is already April?? Feels like only yesterday I was getting ready for Christmas. But here are all the things I've been loving for the month of March.

Face wash.

I've been using the scrub pretty much everyday for about three weeks and I love it. It's super gentle making it good to use everyday, leaves my skin so smooth and I've really noticed such a differences in my skin. You can buy it from Avon for £4.00 but it is currently half price at £2.00

Food

It wouldn't be a favourite without food making an appearance. Mini eggs are my absolute favourite sweet. But it's sad they only come out around Easter. You can generally pick these up for around a £1

Blush

I've had this blush for a while (as you may be able to tell) and I'm glad I picked it for my first ever blush. It is very pigmented and lasts on the cheeks for such a long time and does a great job of giving you the pinched cheek look. It's by MUA and it cost £1.00

TV/ film

I'm about 9 years late for this programme but I found Veronica Mars and totally became obsessed with it and then the movie came out which gave me my fix. I urge anyone who has yet to see it to go watch it this instant...well after you finished reading this post.

Book

I've read a ton of books this month, watch out for reviews coming soon. But my favourite would be Bernie Nolan -Now & Forever. Such a heartbreaking story.

YouTuber

I've always known about Judy, Benji and Jb from seeing them in the Sacconejolys videos who I love. So I decided to give Itsjudyslife a go and I love their little family which has grown with the arrival of their twin daughters. It's nice to see the children grow everyday & if you like the Sacconejolys then you will like Judy and her family.

What were your favourites for March?

Shopping Haul!

Hey,

I went shopping today and may have spent a little bit (okay a lot) of money. Whoops lol. So I thought I would show you what I brought.

First stop was Wilkinsons (Wilkos) I only came in here for one thing and ended up leaving with a lot more lol.

            * image from google images*

I picked up the Rich Moisturiser from the brand Skin Therapy. The brand in on the cheap side and this item was priced at £0.98p for 15ml. It's PH balanced, fragrance & allergen free. Dermatologically tested.

I tried this item when I got home and it's very runny so I tend to give it a shake before applying, it's a nice moisturiser but you do have to really rub this in properly otherwise you end up looking like a ghost. It did leave my skin feeling really soft.

I then picked up some Cotton Pads which are from the same brand as the Rich Moisturiser and they were reduced from £0.70p to £0.50p for approx 100. I'll be using these to take off my make-up =).

While browsing Wilkos I stumbled across the make-up section and I decided I needed a mascara so I picked up the No Clumps Mascara in Ulta Black from the brand Collection and it was on offer for £2.50.

I also gave this a try and while the wand is small so you're able to coat every lash it did leave my lashes stuck together. ( there's no link to this mascara as I was unable to find it on the Wilkos website)

My next stop was Superdrugs and another small fortune was spent lol.

                     *image from google images*

The first thing I picked up was the L'oreal Skin Perfection Cleanser I saw Twinklelashes from YouTube talking about it, and saying it was a dupe for Bioderma, and as I was curious about Bioderma as its not available in the UK (can only get it from France) and its also out of my price range, where as the L'oreal one is normally £4.99 for 200ml but it was on offer for only £2.49 talk about a bargain.

It's a 3 in 1 purifying micellar solution and it claims to dissolves make-up, unclogs pores and removes impurities, tones and soothes skin. I gave this a go the same evening and it took off all my make-up and so much more, I also used this after I washed my face and the amount of stuff still left on your face is unbelievable. Seriously give this a go because you won't be disappointed.

Next I made my way to the hair care section and picked up the Dove Intensive Repair Regenerating Mask with Keratin

My hair feels really dry at the moment so I wanted to give it a treat with a mask, this was also on offer priced at £1.97 for 200ml.

I then spun around and found a hair serum by the brand Twisted Sista

It claims to instantly eliminate frizz for both straight and curly hairstyles. I get really frizzy hair so I'm looking forward to trying it. It's priced at £1.99 for 30ml. It contains argan oil and green tea. Free from sulfats, paraben, phtalates & mineral oils. And it smells like watermelon :)

My last shop was Boots and I spent more money in here :( lol.

               *image from google images*

I decided to get a Tinted Moisturiser and I went with the brand Natural Collection.

I had researched beforehand so I knew what brand I was looking for and after figuring out what colour I needed I picked it up in the shade Fair and it matches my skin perfectly. It's not good coverage if you are having a bad skin day, but its good if you want to even out your skin tone and the best part is its only £1.99

I then went in search for an eye cream and actually ended up getting two (as you do lol) so I picked up the Boots Vitamin E Gentle Eye Cream

It has SPF 15 and it claims to help reduce appearance of fine lines, puffiness & dark circles within 4 weeks. I plan on using this in the mornings. It was priced at £2.54 for 15ml

The second eye cream I got was also by Boots and its the Essentials Cucumber Eye Gel.

Which claims to cool, refresh and lightly hydrate the eye area. I plan on using this at night time. It was priced at £1.50 for 15ml

And last but by no means least I picked up the Eylure Shape & Shade Brow Pencil and Tamer

I picked this up in the shade dark to medium brunette and it matches my eyebrows perfectly and that was priced at £5.39

And that completes my shopping. If any of the products work out then I shall do a review :) let me know in the comments if you've tried any of the products mentioned :)

I hope you enjoyed this haul, till next time TTFN!

XOXO
Debbie
